With the Kam’uk’s shallow draft, speed, cargo capacity and wide access ramp, the Kam’uk is a unique vessel in the area. The Kam’uk’s abilities paired with Alaska Barge Terminals assets, experience, and our private loading ramp on the Homer Spit makes our capabilities unparalleled. We receive trucks daily and have a plethora of equipment onsite to handle anything sent our way. Services
Some services the Alaska Barge Terminal has to offer that simplifies and streamlines freight logistics.
- Freight receiving – We are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm to receive freight from any carrier.
- Convenience- You can ship your freight to us and enjoy the hands-off convenience of us handling the freight receiving, storage and loading of the vessel.
- Storage – Private 15-acre laydown yard designated for freight handling, storage, staging, and secure private loading areas.
- Warehousing – 6000 sq ft warehouse conveniently located on the Homer Spit to store the more delicate freight out of the weather.
- Cold Storage – 40 ft freezer unit for frozen foods
- Equipment – We have a plethora of equipment on site to efficiently handle your cargo.
- Long crates or lumber – With the Kam’uk’s 27ft long deck and our proven loading techniques, we can accommodate most cumbersome building materials without the back ache or labor intensity generally involved in loading these items, saving you time and money.
- Vehicles – The Kam’uk can accommodate most full-size vehicles including those long 4-door pickup trucks.
- US Coast Guard approved facility with a secure hazmat storage area for handling hazardous materials.
- Need to hire a bigger landing craft? – Our parent company, Alaska Marine Excavation LLC owns the 152' Landing Craft, M/V Polar Bear. The Polar Bear has access to all the same services Alaska Barge Terminal offers, making it a great choice for any of your bigger projects. Kam'uk Rates
$475 PER HOUR. This rate includes loading, travel, and offloading time.
FLAT RATES – These flat rates are based on standard loads with no more than a 20 min load or offload time. AKBT reserves the right to adjust the rates to fit the scope of work.
